Janet Michell Ellis, MBE (born September 16, 1955) is an English television host, actress and writer best known for hosting Blue Peter and Jigsaw children's television programs from 1979 to 1987. She has had two novels written, The Butcher's Hook (2016) and How It Was (2019). She is the mother of singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, guitarist Jackson Ellis-Leach (and former child actor), and art historian Martha Ellis-Leach.
