Character actor and playwright Jason Miller had a variety of jobs before starting a writing career and writing his own play, "The Championship Season," for which he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize. In the early seventies Miller abandoned his professional writing career to start acting.He appeared as a depressed priest in 1973 in the horror movie film The Exorcist (1973), for which he earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination for the Academy Award. He directed to the screen, in 1982, the revival of his play, The Championship Season (1982).
