Jean Muir (13 February 1911-23 July 1996) was an American actress and educator on stage and screen. She was the first performer to be blacklisted after her name appeared in Red Channels, the infamous anti-Communist pamphlet of 1950.Muir's debut on Broadway was in The Real Game (1930). She was signed in 1933 by Warner Bros. and made 14 films there during her first three years. She played many famous actors opposite, including Warren William, Paul Muni, Richard Barthelmess and Franchot Tone, but in 1937 she returned to Broadway because she was dissatisfied with the parts. She briefly acted in movies until 1943.
