Emmy-nominated actress Jenna Fischer, known for portraying receptionist Pam Beesley's character in The Office (2005), was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on 7 March 1974, to Regina Marie Fischer. She is the daughter of teacher Anne (Miller) and plastics engineer James E. Fischer. Her ethnicity includes Czech, Hungarian, French, Scots-Irish, and English. Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, she attended Truman State University to study theater arts. She made her debut in the 1998 film Born Champion (1998), as a talented actress. Fischer has written and directed LolliLove (2004), a mock-documentary that featured her and her ex-husband, director James Gunn. In November 2004 the film had its premiere at the St. Louis International Film Festival.
