Jenny Agutter was born in Taunton, Somerset, England, UK on 20 December 1952. She was the daughter of an army officer and spent her youth traveling and working in numerous countries. Her film career started at the age of 12 in East Sudan (1964), soon followed by Disney's Magical World: Ballerina: Part 1 (1966) and Disney's Magical World: Ballerina: Part 2 (1966), and A Man Could Get Killed (1966). During her early career other films and television roles include Gates to Paradise (1968), Boy Meets Girl: Long After Summer (1967), Star! I Enter Counting (1969), The Great Inimitable Mr. Dickens (1970) and BBC Game of the Month: The Wild Duck (1971).
