She is the former co-host of MTV Canada's The After Show program and its numerous incarnations including The Hills: The After Show and The City: Live After Show with Dan Levy as co-host. She is also the host of CBC's Smartest Citizen in Canada and The Products. Cruickshank's first acting appearance has been in a Shoppers Drug Mart Christmas commercial. She had a brief part in the made-for-television movie For Hope which was directed by Bob Saget in 1996 during her pre-teen years.
