How tall is Jim Davis?
Tall, rangy Jim Davis spent most of his early career at Republic Pictures primarily in Westerns. The Missouri-born and -raised Davis 'calm, comfortable style and Southern drawl readily matched most moviegoers' picture of the cowboy and Republic brought him in a lot of them over the years (the fact that, unlike other movie cowboys, he did not hurt himself right at home on a horse). He alternated between good-guy and villain roles, one of his best being that of the devious, murdering fur trapper working in The Big Sky (1952) for the Kirk Douglas series. Nevertheless, he is better remembered for his appearance in the long-running TV show Dallas (1978) as Ewing family patriarch Jock.
