Kim Seok-jin (born 4 December 1992) is a South Korean singer and songwriter, also known by his stage name Jin. He is a member of South Korean boy group BTS and a vocalist.Kim was scouted off the street by South Korean K-pop label SM Entertainment while in junior high school but at the time he declined the offer. He initially wanted to be an actress, attend Konkuk University and graduate in art and show on 22 February 2017.Kim was scoured for his looks by Big Hit Entertainment as he marched down the highway. Kim practiced modeling at the time and had no experience in music. He later auditioned as an actress for Big Hit, before becoming an idol trainee.
