Joan Crawford was born on 23 March 1906 to Anna Belle (Johnson) and Thomas E. LeSueur, a laundry man, Lucille Fay LeSueur, in San Antonio, Texas. Her parents had divorced by the time she was born, and she'd had three stepfathers by the time she was a child. This was not an easy life; there were a number of menial tasks where Crawford employed.
