Known for Knocked Up (2007), Growing Pains (1985), and Girl, Disrupted (1999), she is an actress and director. Since 30 September 1994 she has been married to Marc Appleton. Previous to this she had been married to Richard Kerns.Kerns is Martha Louise (Smith)'s aunt, and David Thomas DeVarona. Her father-in-law, Joseph de la Cruz DeVarona Betancourt, was Cuban. Her other descendants are mainly German, Welsh, Irish and English. She is the younger sister of Donna DeVarona, an Olympic Gold Medalist swimmer, and she has two brothers, David and Kurt.
