Jodie Foster started her career when she was two. She made advertisements for four years, and then made her debut as an actress in the Mayberry R.F.D. (1968) TV series. For the 1975 film Taxi Driver (1976) Jodie was given the part of prostitute Iris Steensma.That part, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award in the category of "Best Supporting Actress," marked a milestone in her career. She graduated from the College Lycée Français in 1980 as the winner in her class and started studying English Literature at Yale University, from where she graduated in 1985 with a degree in magna cum laude.
