Joel Rueben Madden (né Combs; March 11, 1979) is the lead vocalist for Good Charlotte, an American pop punk outfit, as well as a record producer, actor, DJ, and Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF. He is also involved with his identical twin brother Benji Madden in the art music group The Madden Brothers.Joel Madden, his brother Benji and a friend formed their own band in 1995, at the age of 16. The band was short-lived, and fellow high schoolers Paul Thomas, Aaron Escolopio and Billy Martin were ultimately hired by the Maddens to form their new band Good Charlotte.
