John Charles Bryan Barnes MBE (born 7 November 1963) is a former professional footballer and manager born in Jamaica, English international. He is currently working for ESPN and SuperSport as analyst and pundit. Initially a fast, skilful left winger, later in his career he moved to central midfield. At Liverpool he won two league cups, in whom he has reached two cup finals at Wembley. He was twice a runner-up of the FA Cup for Watford, Liverpool and Newcastle United once each. He'd won England 79 caps. Born and raised in Jamaica, Barnes was the son of a Trinidad and Tobago military officer, and a Jamaican mother. He moved with his family to London at the age of 12.
