Sir John Mills, CBE (born Lewis Ernest Watts Mills, February 22, 1908-April 23, 2005) was an English actor who starred in a career spanning seven decades in more than 120 films. On television, he mostly played people who, because of their common sense, kindness and good judgment, are not remarkable at all but are heroes.With his role in Ryan's Daughter (1970), he has won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
