In the early 1990s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993), young, slim-faced, curly-haired actor John Shea is primarily known to TV viewers for his recurring role as the wicked Lex Luthor. John Victor Shea III was born in 1949 to Elizabeth Mary (Fuller) and Dr John Victor Shea, a teacher, coach and assistant superintendent of schools in North Conway, New Hampshire. He is of German and Irish descent. John was raised in Massachusetts and received his bachelor's degree from Bates College, which he obtained through debating and studying football. He then attended the University of Yale and received an MFA in directing from his Drama School.
