Jazz singer Muggsy Spanier (who was married to Jon's wife, Ruth) was his paternal step-grandfather. In one of his performances on Seinfeld (1989), he is playing a homeless man who refuses to give up Tupperware from Kramer (Michael Richards). The father in Napoleon Dynamite (2004) is a door-to-door seller with items similar to Tupperware.
