June Haver was born on 10 June 1926, in Rock Island, Illinois, with Beverly June Stovenour's birth name. At an early age her parents divorced and she was adopted by her stepfather, Bert Haver. Her parents and new father moved to Cincinnati where she first performed in a small theater version of "Midnight in a Toyshop" at the age of six.Quite long after, musical competitions across Queen City were won in June. In 1936, little June and her mother had returned to the city of her birth, after a video screen test the previous year. It was here with her music that she blossomed even more and debuted on local radio.
