Jürgen Norbert Klopp (born 16 June 1967) is a professional German football manager and former player who is head of the Liverpool Premier League side. Also credited with popularizing the theory of football known as Gegenpressing, many consider Klopp one of the greatest managers in the world.Klopp spent much of his career playing on Mainz 05. He was initially used as a forward, a hard-working and aggressive player, before switching to defense. Klopp became the club's boss following his retirement in 2001, and won Bundesliga promotion in 2004.Klopp retired in 2008 as the longest serving boss of the club, after suffering relegation in the 2006–07 season and failing to win promotion. He then became Borussia Dortmund's chairman, leading them to the 2010–11 Bundesliga title, before capturing Dortmund's first domestic double in a record-breaking season
