Born and raised in Elk Grove Village IL, Katherine Cunningham joined her parents and siblings on stage as a child, thrilling audiences in a number of local theatre productions. She started an acting career in the theater, after studying acting and biology at Illinois State University. She also collaborated on numerous plays like, though not limited to, Picnic (Writers 'Theatre), Honest (Steppenwolf Theatre), The Taming of the Shrew (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre), and Keith Huff's world debut Big Lake Big City (Lookingglass Theatre), directed by David Schwimmer, as well.
