Katie Lohmann was born on 29 January 1980 in Scottsdale, Arizona. She is the eldest of three children (sister Michael and mother Christine). Her father Dan is an experienced accountant who has owned many businesses. Her mother Sharon is the head of Citibank's Payroll. In 1992 her parents divorced. Early on Katie learned she liked acting on stage. Her first appearance, at the age of eight, was singing a song from the Walt Disney film The Little Mermaid (1989) and she got a standing ovation. In 1989 the new Disney Mickey Mouse series, The Brand New Mickey Mouse Club (1989), received a casting call.
