Kevin Norwood Bacon was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 8, 1958 to Ruth Hilda (Holmes), an elementary school teacher, and Edmund Norwood Bacon, a prominent architect on Time Magazine's cover in November 1964. Kevin's early acting experience came from The Manning Lane. His debut as the tight Chip Diller in the Animal House of National Lampoon (1978) seems almost like a joke, but he has managed to escape from that role almost unnoticed. After a few tv shows and a variety of less-than-memorable movie parts Diner (1982) was the turning point He starred with Fred Ward, Flatliners (1990), and Apollo 13 (1995), in Footloose (1984), She's Having a Newborn (1988), Tremors (1990).
