Gordon played shapeshifter Embry Call in New Moon in 2009 based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. Kiowa said one day Stephenie Meyer confronted him at church because she felt he'd be ideal for the wolf pack.Actor Don Siegel, who used Gordon in his prison movie Riot in Cell Block 11 (1954), once said that "Leo Gordon was the most frightening man I've ever met "— this is from a man who directed John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Bette Midler! Siegel wasn't solely concerned about Gordon's appearance on video. As a "strong," Gordon was the real deal — before becoming an actor (he trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts), Gordon spent five years for armed robbery in San Quentin State Prison (during which police shot him many times point-blank — and survived).
