How tall is Leslie Caron?
French ballet dancer Leslie Caron was discovered by legendary MGM actor Gene Kelly in his search for a co-star in one of the greatest musicals ever made, The Oscar-winning An American in Paris (1951), influenced by and based on George Gershwin's lyrics. Leslie Claire Margaret Caron was born on 1st July 1931 in France. Her father, Claude Caron, was a French chemist, and during the 1920s her American-born mother, Margaret Petit, was a ballet dancer back in the USA. Leslie herself began to take dance lessons at age 11.
