She started her career at the age of seventeen, and appeared in numerous TV commercials.Her television break came in the short-lived Birdland (1994) when she was credited as Nurse Mary. There followed other TV and film roles, including The Cable Guy (1996), where she met her husband, Judd Apatow, who was a film producer. The story goes that Apatow turned to his colleagues after Mann left her audition for the part and said "there is the future Mrs. Apatow."
