Jonathan Smith (born January 17, 1971) is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, and DJ based in Atlanta, Georgia, known professionally as Lil Jon. He was the founding singer of the multi-platinum selling rap collective, Lil Jon & The East Side Boyzand was influential in the rise of the sub-hip / hop crunk sound.He is credited with turning the genre a commercial success, delivering "Get Low," "Goodies," "Cyclone," "Freek-a-Leek" and "Yeah!" Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 songs. "Yeah!" won a Best Rap / Sung Performance Grammy Award. Often, Lil Jon collaborates regularly with friend and fellow musician Pitbull.
