In the early 1960s, she walked the New York pavements, looking for jobs after several stock parts in New Jersey, and eventually made a mark within the New York romantic comedy scene with parts in "Hey, Kay!" (1960), "A Family Affair," (1962), "It's a Bird ... It's a Plane ... It's Superman" (1966) (her highlight number was "You've Got Possibilities") and "On a Clear Night, You Could See Forever" (1966).
