Her debut came in the Walt Disney Pictures film The Parent Trap (1998), having debuted as a regular on television soap opera Another World at age 10. Lohan's early work won her childhood stardom while Mean Girls (2004), the sleeper hit, confirmed her reputation as a teen idol. Since starring in Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), she soon became the target of heavy media attention due to a string of personal problems and legal issues, as well as a variety of stintings attributable to drug abuse in recovery institutions.
