How tall was Lionel Barrymore?
One of the best character actors in the film, the legendary Lionel Barrymore was the eldest of the three Barrymore brothers. He was born on 28 April 1878 in Philadelphia to Lionel Herbert Blythe, the son of actors Maurice Barrymore and Georgiana Drew Barrymore. (The stage name was "Barrymore"). Though he was been a Protestant, he attended the Episcopal School in Philadelphia. He occupies a notable role in American acting in the first half of the 20th Century along with Ethel Barrymore and John Barrymore. Besides receiving a Best Actor Academy Award (for A Free Spirit (1931)), Lionel was also an Oscar-nominated director (for Madame X (1929)) and a prolific music writer, as well as an accomplished graphic designer.
