Lydia Leonard is a British actress on stage, film and TV. She was born in Paris to an Irish mother, a teacher, and a financial accountant, an Anglo-French father; she lived in France until she was five. She studied at Old Vic Theater School in Bristol. From May until October 2014, Leonard played Anne Boleyn in the production of Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Pick Up the Bodies at the Aldwych Theater in London.In 2008 Leonard was in the BBC remake of The 39 Steps as the female lead. Part of the Christmas timetable, the first broadcast on the day became BBC One's most watched program. Leonard appeared as Cynthia in the Archipelago feature film of 2010, by Joanna Hogg.
