Chester Jermaine "Lyfe" Jennings (born 3 June 1978) is an American singer-songwriter and album producer in R&B and funk. He plays the guitar, violin, and piano that he's adding into his work. The New York Times referred to him as a "R&B artist with a common context."In 2002 Lyfe returned to his artistic dreams after spending 10 years in jail. He released a four-song demo CD two days after his release from jail in December 2002.After a month of release, he played at the Apollo.He was booed as he came on stage, but when the Apollo crowd heard his gritty falsetto and lyrical songwriting, five amateur-night wins in a row were swayed to the beat. During his "residency" in Apollo, Lyfe sold around 1000 copies of his four-song demo CD.
