Lady Lynn Whitfield was born, the eldest of four children and BFA graduate of Howard University in 1953, with roots which go back to southern Aristocracy in Louisia. Her dentist father played a key role in Lynn's initial interest in acting as he was a prime player in her native Baton Rouge's community theater.
