Laura Mackenzie Phillips (born 10 November 1959) is an American actress and singer, known for her roles in American Graffiti, as rebellious but eventually loving teenager Julie Mora Cooper Horvath on the One Day at a Time sitcom, and for the science fiction series So Weird on the Disney Channel.Born in Alexandria, Virginia, she is the daughter of the singer in The Mamas & the Papas, John Phillips, and his first wife, Susan Stuart Adams (1936–2016). She is Jeffrey Phillips ' sister and Tamerlane Phillips ' half-sister, Bijou Phillips ' actress, and Chynna Phillips ' singer.
