How tall is Maria Friedman?
Invited to become member of AMPAS in 2006. Raised in Switzerland, on 19 March 1960. Leonard, a violinist and co-founder of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and Claire, a concert pianist, and opera teacher, are the third child (of four) to musical parents.Both the kids have played piano, but brother Richard is a violinist and conductor in all sorts in orchestras, older sister Sarah was a flutist, but has taken her career elsewhere and is now a university professor, and younger sister Sonia has also played cello and violin, and is now an acclaimed artist in London's West End. Maria was going to be a cellist but she didn't want to play. Interestingly, her career in music / singing was an accident. She heard Stephen Sondheim's "A Little Night Music" at the age of 14 but it wasn't until she had her first role 5 years later.
