Mason Durell Betha (born August 27, 1975) is an American singer, songwriter and pastor, better known by his mononym Mase (formerly Murda Mase and stylised as Ma$e). He worked at Bad Boy Records in the late 1990s with Sean "Diddy" Combs. From 1996 to 1999 Mase had six Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 songs as a lead or featured artist and five US Rap No. 1 singles.His 1997 album Harlem World has been nominated by Grammy and certified by RIAA as a quadruple Platinum. His two additional albums, Double Up and Welcome Back, are both RIAA certified Double Platinum and Gold.
