Matthew James Sutherland Dawson, MBE (born 31 October 1972) is a former English rugby union player who played half of scrum for Northampton Saints and then London Wasps. He played three times with the British and Irish Lions during his international career, and was part of the winning team of the 2003 England Rugby World Cup. He earned a total of 77 caps for his country, including nine as captain, and was the best-capped scrum half for England until Danny Care died.
