Michael Ashley Ball, OBE (brought into the world 27 June 1962) is an English on-screen character, vocalist and telecaster. He made his West End debut in 1985 playing Marius Pontmercy in the first London creation of Les Misérables, and proceeded to star in 1987 as Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera. In 1989, he arrived at number two in the UK Singles Chart with "Adoration Changes Everything", a melody taken from the melodic Aspects of Love, where he played Alex. He assumed the job in London and on Broadway.
