How tall was Mike Connors?
Mike Connors once described himself jokingly as 'a disgruntled song-and-dance guy' who ended up typecast as a crime fighter on TV. Tall, stunning Armenian-American Mike Connors had a brief career in the cinema before becoming a success on the show as Joe Mannix, the impeccably dressed macho sleuth. He was nominated for an Emmy Award four times, and in 1969 received a Golden Globe. Throughout his day, Mannix (1967) was particularly innovative: his winning formula featured an energetic jazz score (composed by Lalo Schifrin), teasers, quick jumps from scene to scene, a computer-filled vehicle with fingerprints and an African-American co-star (the beautiful Gail Fisher who played Joe's se).
