Mindy Kaling was born as Vera Mindy Chokalingam on 24 June 1979 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Popular for The Workplace (2005), Inside Out (2015), and Wreck-It Ralph (2012), she is an actress and author.Her middle name, Mindy, was taken from the tv series, Mork & Mindy (TV, 1978). Her mum, in Nigeria, was pregnant with her and that was the only American show they had there. He didn't believe her when she met Robin Williams, and told him the story. Graduated from Dartmouth College, where she was a member of the comedy troupe The Dog Day Players, and where she even wrote a comic strip for the campus newspaper called 'Badly Drawn Girl'.
