Miranda Taylor Cosgrove was born on 14 May 1993 to Christina (Casey) and Tom Cosgrove, who runs a dry-cleaning company in Los Angeles, California. She was spotted singing and dancing around a table in a restaurant at a young age, where an agent noticed her talent and immediately signed it. She was told, while filming School of Rock (2003) in New York, that her pilot Drake & Josh (2004) had been picked up. She co-starred as the little sister of Drake and Josh, while making limited appearances at other Nickelodeon series before starring with the network in her own film, iCarly (2007).
