Morena Baccarin was born to actress Vera Setta and journalist Fernando Baccarin, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her uncle was Ivan Setta, an actor. Morena has Portuguese, Italian and Brazilian ancestry. At the age of 10, she moved to New York, after her dad was relocated there. She entered the Music and Performing Arts High School in LaGuardia, and then the Juilliard School.She remained in New York, worked in the theatre-especially in the production of Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull" in Central Park where she was also an understudy of Natalie Portman-and acted in many films.
