The American rapper, actor, songwriter, producer and actress Mýa Marie Harrison (born October 10, 1979). Born into a musical family, she performed at BET's Teen Summit before entering the music industry. Registered with Interscope Records in 1996, she released her debut album of the same name in April 1998.The album also produced its first top ten hit "It's All About Me," a critical and commercial success. Subsequent songs, "Ghetto Supastar (That Is What You Are)" and "Take Me There" continue to raise the popularity and gain chart success internationally, with the former earning its first Grammy nomination. Fear of Flying, her second album, was released in April 2000 and has become a hit around the world.
