Nicholas Radbourn Hewer (born 17 February 1944) is an British tv personality and former specialist in the area of public relations. Between 2005 to 2014 he worked on the Uk reality programme The Apprentice as the advisor to Lord Sugar. He has hosted the Countdown Channel 4 show with Rachel Riley and Susie Dent since January 2012, since taking over from Jeff Stelling.Hewer traveled to London as a trainee in the 1960s, aged 20, to pursue a firm in public relations (PR). He had left the company within six years, and subsequently bought the owner out, becoming the primary shareholder. Amstrad employed his PR firm to represent them in 1983.He spent 21 years in the Amstrad management department.
