Abundantly active and much loved Asian-American star who became an on-screen icon for millions of adults and children as well as the smart and glamorous Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid (1984), the radiant Noriyuki Morita was again delivering Eastern philosophy and martial arts training for The Karate Kid Part II (1986) and The Karate Kid Part III (1989) and The Next Karate Kid (1994) as well.Yet setting all that karate aside, the diminutive Morita actually started out first in nightclubs and bars as a stand-up comic performing as the Hip Nip, and made his first appearance on-screen in Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967).
