Quincy Delight Jones Jr. (born 14 March 1933) is an American album producer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, author, arranger, film and television director. His career spans over 60 years in the entertainment industry with a remarkable 80 Grammy Award nominations, 28 Grammys, and a Grammy Legend Award in 1992.Jones rose to fame as a jazz arranger and conductor in the 1950s, before going on to specializing in pop music and movie scores. In 1969 Jones and his songwriting collaborator Bob Russell were the first African-Americans to be nominated for the Best Original Song Academy Award, for the film Banning's "The Face of Love"
