Rachel Furner is a songwriter and English singer signed to Universal Music Publishing. She initially worked under Tich as an musician, then as signed to Mercury Records as Rachel Furner. A native of Reading, Furner grew up in Northampton. At age six, she began learning how to play the piano. She started composing her own songs about her struggles at school by the age of 11, and these encounters influenced her to compose a song called Sticks and Stones that she recorded and posted to Myspace. After two and a half years, Furner left Mercury Records, without releasing any material. She debuted under her new artist name Tich, releasing an EP titled Candelight, released by Gravity on 20 December 2012.
