An English-American actor, voice artist, film director and editor was Roderick Andrew Anthony McDowall (17 September 1928–3 October 1998). He is best known in the original Planet of the Apes film series for playing Cornelius and Caesar, as well as in the spin-off television series Galen.He started his childhood career in Britain, then in the U.S., in How Green Was My Valley (1941), My Friend Flicka (1943) and Lassie Come Back (1943). As an adult, McDowall performed more often on radio, the stage, screen, and television as a character actor.
