Romola Garai was born August 6th 1982. She is an English actress-writer-director who has done substantial work on stage, television and theater. She is recognised as an actress for her roles in movies including Atonement (2007), Angel (2007), I Seize the Castle (2003), and (Suffragette).Her work on television included her performance BAFTA nominee in The Crimson Petal and the White (2011), The Hour (2012), Born to Kill (2017) and The Miniaturist (2017). As a director her work includes Scrubber nominated by Sundance Best Foreign Short Film. She read English Literature at university. She played in a jazz ensemble. A casting director picked her for her first film part in The Last of the Blonde Bombshells (2000), looking for young girls at her high.
