The American director and actor is Ronald William Howard (born March 1, 1954). First Howard became a prominent child actor in several TV series, including the Twilight Zone episode. In the sitcom The Andy Griffith show from 1960 to 1968, he gained national attention to playing the young Opie Taylor, Sheriff Andy Taylor's son (played by Andy Griffith). During this time he was also a critical and commercial success in the musical movie The Music Man (1962).
