Roy Brocksmith started his bar career in his native Quincy, Illinois, at the age of three at Hap Kuhl's Tavern. He appeared as a child soprano in churches, schools and frequently on local television and radio. At sixteen he was teaching at the local theater for youth. He met his partner in high school two years back.
