How tall was Russell Means?
Russell Means was a Sioux Indian born in Oglala/Lakota. He was the first Regional Director of the American Indian Movement (AIM) in whose capacity he became famous at Wounded Knee during the 1973 standoff with the US government. He left the U.S. in 1987; Libertarian Party, and declared its candidacy for the presidential nomination of the party. (He lost Congresswoman Ron Paul's nomination).Means has starred since 1992 in The Last of the Mohicans (1992), Natural Born Killers (1994), and other films. He has championed the interests of indigenous peoples both in many nations and in the United States. In a televised speech to the National Convention of the Libertarian Party in 2000, Means said he favoured the word "Indian" over "Native American" which was more politically correct.
